Job summary

Expeditors is seeking a Data Engineer III or Senior Data Engineer (Analytics Focus) to design, build, and support enterprise analytics solutions across the Americas. You will develop enterprise data models, semantic layers, and reporting datasets to enable data‑driven decision making and executive dashboards.

The role emphasizes analytics engineering, data quality, and scalable BI using Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SQL, Python, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years, or Master’s with 3+ years, or equivalent experience
• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years, Master’s with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years
• Advanced proficiency in designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise data models and semantic layers that support scalable analytics.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing scalable reporting and analytics solutions using enterprise visualization tools.
• Knowledge of data governance, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and best practices for ensuring data security and compliance.
• Expert‑level proficiency in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries across multiple databases

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of enterprise data models and semantic layers for scalable analytics.
• Establish and promote data quality, testing, automation, observability, CI/CD across analytics solutions.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews and mentorship on performance and scalability.
• Design scalable data models and reporting architecture for current and future needs.
• Collaborate with architects to align with enterprise standards for metric governance and semantic modeling.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to deliver analytics capabilities.
• Mentor team members through coaching and knowledge sharing.
