Job summary

Expeditors seeks a Data Engineer III or Senior Data Engineer (Analytics Focus) to design, build, and support enterprise analytics solutions, data models, and reporting experiences that drive data‑driven decision making across the organization. The role centers on analytics‑focused data engineering with strong data modeling and BI skills.

The candidate will develop enterprise data models, semantic layers, and reporting datasets, leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SQL, Python, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years, or Master’s with 3+ years, or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years, Master’s with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years.
• Advanced proficiency in designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise data models and semantic layers for scalable analytics.
• Expert-level SQL across multiple databases.
• Expertise with Microsoft Fabric and Databricks for analytics.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, and Python visualizations.
• Git-integrated CI/CD for Fabric/Databricks with automated validation and deployment.
• Certifications in Analytics and Cloud platforms (Databricks Data Engineer, Power BI Data Analyst, Azure Solutions Architect).

Responsibilities

• Lead development of enterprise data models, semantic layers, analytics solutions, and reporting datasets.
• Establish data quality, testing, automation, observability, version control, CI/CD in analytics.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews and mentorship of engineers.
• Design scalable data models and analytics architecture for current and future needs.
• Collaborate with architects to ensure alignment with governance standards.
• Mentor team members and promote engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with business teams to define KPIs and reporting requirements.
