Job summary

Ernst & Young Advisory Services Sdn Bhd seeks a Data Engineer for their Advanced Forward Engineering (AFE) delivery pods. The role focuses on making data accessible, governed, and production‑ready to support AI deployments in highly regulated client environments.

You will own data readiness, ingest and transform data, and ensure governance and security standards are met while collaborating with engineers to deliver reliable AI workflows across diverse data landscapes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or analytics engineering.
• Experience building data pipelines in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Experience with relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, or enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance constraints.
• Ability to collaborate with application engineers in delivery‑focused teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the data owner within an AFE delivery pod, ensuring data readiness.
• Design and implement data ingestion, transformation, and access patterns for AI systems.
• Ensure pipelines meet governance, security, lineage, and access control requirements.
• Implement data interfaces and contracts for DS deployment templates.
• Partner with Forward Deployed Software Engineers to enable AI workflows.
• Diagnose and resolve data quality, schema drift, and integration issues.
• Contribute reusable data patterns back to the integration core for repeatability.
• Support validation, testing, and deployment across dev, test, pre‑prod, prod environments.
