Xcel Energy is seeking a Data Engineer to build and evolve data pipelines, dashboards, and internal applications within the XVS Data & Applications Engineering team. You will collaborate with Product, Data Science, IT, and external consultants to turn planning workflows and data science outputs into maintainable capabilities.

The role emphasizes standards for code quality, testing, documentation, deployment, and knowledge transfer, plus applying AI-assisted development to improve delivery speed

Qualifications

Seven years of related functional experience.
Excellent communication and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Experience managing lifecycle of technical solutions and cross-functional collaboration.
Familiarity with delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) and IT Service Management (ITIL).

Responsibilities

Lead solution delivery across design, architecture, security, and operations.
Monitor and improve solution performance; manage technical debt and incidents.
Act as SME and mentor teammates; collaborate cross‑functionally for optimal solutions.
Ensure governance and release practices with CI/CD and documentation.
