Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Data Engineer to join the XVS Data & Applications Engineering team in Denver, CO. You will build and evolve data pipelines, internal applications, dashboards, and engineering workflows across generation, transmission, and gas planning.

You will partner with Product, Data Science, and IT to translate needs into scalable data products, while applying standards for code quality, testing, deployment, and knowledge transfer in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Seven years of related functional experience.
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Experience managing lifecycle of technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support solution lifecycle technical activities with focus on user experience and performance.
• Review solution health, mitigate operational and technical debt risks, and provide incident support.
• Stay current on domain knowledge and apply it to data engineering solutions.
• Mentor team members and collaborate cross-organizationally to optimize solutions.
