Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build and operate scalable data pipelines supporting analytics, AI/ML, and GenAI initiatives. This onsite role in Miramar, FL, partners with data scientists and technology teams to deliver trusted datasets and production-ready data products.

You will lead data architecture work, mentor engineers, and drive modern automation to improve data reliability and developer efficiency, while supporting production ETL operations.

Qualifications

• Degree requirement: Bachelor or Master of Science in Engineering, CS, IT or equivalent.
• 6+ years in data warehouse design and data modeling.
• Experience with ETL tool development (Talend, ADF).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Hands-on with at least one major cloud and one data warehouse/lakehouse technology.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java/Scala; prefer CI/CD and testing knowledge.
• Experience with streaming data and orchestration (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, Airflow).
• Experience partnering with data science/ML teams to support production ML.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for batch and streaming data.
• Create and maintain reusable data products and curated datasets.
• Implement modern ELT patterns and performance tuning for large data volumes.
• Monitor data loads, ensure schedule adherence and data accuracy.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical initiatives.
• Enable AI/ML and GenAI data foundations; support ML pipelines data access.
• Drive automation, improve developer experience, and evaluate new tools.
• Provide production support and root-cause analysis for data issues.
