Compensation — U.S. Market Reference

For a strong Senior Data Engineer in the current U.S. market, a competitive base salary generally falls around:

USD 140,000–180,000 base

Recent Miami and healthcare-market references show Senior Data Engineer compensation ranging approximately from $135K–$185K, with more experienced profiles moving toward the upper end. A recent remote Miami opening, for example, advertised $150K–$180K, while a Healthcare AI Data Engineering role at MD Anderson publishes a range of $123K–$185K.

For candidates who combine strong Data Engineering capabilities with production-level AI / ML / LLM expertise, the market can move substantially higher.

A competitive U.S. range can be closer to:

USD 180,000–220,000+ base

depending on depth of AI expertise, healthcare knowledge, and production experience. Current healthcare AI positions show ranges around $200K–$220K, with some specialized Applied AI positions reaching $250K.

Recommended range for this search

If the company genuinely wants a hybrid Senior Data Engineer + AI profile, I would recommend:

with flexibility above that for candidates with advanced AI/LLM, MLOps, healthcare-data, and cloud architecture experience.

A competitive U.S. package for this type of senior role would typically include:

  • Medical insurance
  • Vision insurance

  • Build data infrastructure that supports meaningful AI and analytics initiatives.
  • Influence technical architecture and platform evolution.
  • Work with modern cloud and AI technologies.
  • Join a senior-level role with significant technical ownership.
