Job summary

Managed.com is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and evolve CloudBlue’s data and analytics platform, with a strong focus on AI-driven capabilities. You will develop scalable data infrastructure, real-time pipelines, and AI-powered workflows across our cloud-native SaaS platform while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote-first, global environment.

Experience with streaming systems, APIs, data quality, and production reliability is valued, as is comfort working

Qualifications

• Strong professional software engineering experience with data-intensive systems.
• Extensive experience building data pipelines and data models for production-scale workloads.
• Hands-on Python experience.
• Experience with event-streaming tech (Kafka/NATS/Flink).
• Cloud-native infra (Azure/AWS/GCP) and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of data contracts, data quality, observability, and production SLOs.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and applying AI to engineering tasks.
• APIs design and integration experience.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational databases.
• Testing (unit and end-to-end).
• Professional English in a distributed environment.
• Billing/monetization familiarity is a plus.
• Exposure to LLMs or AI services (Anthropic/OpenAI) is an advantage.
• Iceberg, Trino or similar lakehouse patterns are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a high-volume, high-performance data fabric including real-time ingestion, pipelines, storage, and analytics.
• Own features end-to-end from design through testing and production.
• Drive AI adoption across the platform and develop AI-powered workflows.
• Design and integrate APIs connecting data, services, and business workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers in small cross-functional teams.
• Work with Product Managers to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, observability, and production performance.
• Partner with Engineering Manager on growth and career development.
• Support other tasks to meet team and business needs.
