We are partnering with a highly profitable, fast growing US fintech company that is expanding its internal engineering organization and looking for a Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of the data platform behind its banking and payments products.
The company has already built the foundation of a modern AWS based data platform, including a lakehouse architecture, ingestion framework, financial data models, and initial reporting datasets. The next stage is making that environment fully production ready, scalable, observable, and reliable as the business continues to grow.
This is a hands on role with significant ownership. You will build and improve ETL and ELT pipelines, work with large volumes of transactional data, strengthen data quality and monitoring, and help create trusted datasets used across Engineering, Product, Finance, Risk, and
Operations.
A major focus of the role will be financial reconciliation. Data is distributed across banking partners, payment processors, and internal systems, and this person will help identify and investigate missing transactions, duplicate activity, settlement differences, balance discrepancies, and other exceptions.
The company is also preparing for important bank and payment processor migrations. You will help build new ingestion pipelines, map legacy data into new systems, preserve historical transaction data, validate information before and after migrations, and make sure balances and reporting remain accurate throughout the transition.
Experience in fintech, payments, banking, lending, card issuing, card processing, ACH, ledgers, settlement, reconciliation, sponsor banks, or payment processor integrations would be especially valuable.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex data problems and wants real ownership of a platform. You will have the opportunity to influence architecture, improve engineering standards, work directly with financial infrastructure, and become a key part of the company’s growing engineering organization.
