Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Remote, US

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our growing data team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in building and managing modern data pipelines and data integration solutions, with hands-on expertise in Snowflake, SQL Server, AWS, and Matillion ETL. This role requires strong technical proficiency, a solid grasp of data engineering best practices, and the ability to collaborate across teams to support data-driven business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Pipeline Development and Maintenance

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable ETL pipelines using Matillion ETL.
• Ingest, transform, and load structured and semi-structured data into Snowflake.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across all data sources.
• Optimize SQL scripts, queries, and stored procedures in Snowflake and SQL Server.

2. Data Warehousing and Modeling

• Design and implement data models and schemas within Snowflake to support analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate with data architects and analysts to ensure models meet business needs and follow best practices.

3. Collaboration & Requirements Gathering

• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical deliverables.
• Assist analysts and architects by providing insights into best practices for data ingestion, storage, and access.

4. Platform Monitoring & Optimization

• Monitor performance of ETL jobs and pipelines, proactively identifying and addressing bottlenecks.
• Conduct root cause analysis of data issues and implement preventive solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering roles.
• Tools & Technologies: Proficient in Snowflake, SQL Server, AWS, and ETL tools (Matillion - Mandatory).
• Programming: Strong command of SQL and Python, with a focus on query optimization and performance tuning.
• Data Skills: Expertise in developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows.
• Data Modeling: Practical experience in designing data warehouse schemas and models, especially on Snowflake.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with additional ETL tools or cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with healthcare data and Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) systems is a plus.
