Job summary

Agilyti is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and improve data platforms for a range of clients over the long term. Initial work may include modernizing reporting workflows and designing reusable data models.

You will own technical design, write production-grade Python and SQL, and work directly with stakeholders to turn complex data needs into reliable solutions, including using AI to accelerate development and review.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of data engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, Python, dbt, and data modeling.
• Prior experience with Alteryx and Tableau.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development practices.
• Practical experience with LLM-based coding tools.
• Strong communication skills and comfort with client stakeholders.

We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer to build and improve data platforms for a range of clients over the long term. Initial work may include modernizing reporting workflows and designing reusable data models, but this is not a role tied to a single project or tool migration.

We're looking for someone who can do deep analysis, own technical design, write production-quality code, and work directly with stakeholders to turn complex data needs into reliable solutions. You should be comfortable using AI to accelerate development, and equally comfortable reviewing, debugging, and explaining the code it produces.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and analytics models in Snowflake and dbt.
• Code: Develop in SQL and Python using Git-based workflows for collaboration and code review.
• Model: Apply sound data-modeling principles to create reusable, well-documented datasets.
• Assess: Evaluate existing reporting and transformation processes, including those built in Alteryx and Tableau.
• Verify: Use AI coding tools thoughtfully while validating correctness, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Partner: Collaborate with clients, analysts, and engineers on architecture and implementation decisions.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 5–7 years of data engineering experience (target range).
• Strong hands‑on experience with Snowflake, SQL, Python, dbt, and data modeling.
• Prior experience working with Alteryx and Tableau.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development practices.
• Practical experience with LLM-based coding tools, paired with the engineering depth to understand and verify what they produce.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with client stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced: Architect certification.
• Experience with Airflow or another orchestration tool.
• Familiarity with Snowflake Cortex Code (CoCo) or Claude Code.
