A leading IT solutions provider is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a remote position. The role involves implementing data pipelines following best practices, analyzing complex data, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in SQL and data pipeline automation, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Data Engineer opening for our client in Rochester, MN.
Location: Remote
Duration: Contract to Hire
Duties:
Implement data pipelines using best practices for ETL / ELT, data management, and data governance
Analyze and process complex data sources in a fast-paced environment
Perform data modeling against large data sets for peak efficiency
Identify, design, and implement process improvement solutions that automate manual processes using standard frameworks and methodologies
Ensure data quality principles are followed to maximize reliability and impact
Partner with cross-functional teams to support cross-platform operations
Create and document functional and technical specifications
Drive exploration of new features, technologies, and provide recommendations to enhance offerings
Mentor junior engineers within the team
Skills:
Experience with SAFe Agile and Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO)
Strategic IAM design and architecture experience
Familiarity with the FICAM model and HHS Cybersecurity Performance Goals
Proficiency in creating and maintaining documentation, reports, and presentations
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders across the organization
Ability to manage changing priorities, requirements, and timelines
Adherence to ethical standards and data security practices
Availability during U.S. Central business hours (8:00am to 5:00pm)
Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience programming in SQL
3+ years of experience building and maintaining automated data pipelines using batch and/or streaming processes
Demonstrated experience in data modeling, ETL development, and process automation
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
OR equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of related experience
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $46.00 to $60.00/hourly. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
