Job description

JOB PURPOSE

Our Data Engineers support our clients in architectural design, implementation, and research of complex data integration setups. They also provide other data consumers with the necessary data for their data models and oversee continuous delivery on projects, periodically reviewing the current tech stack decisions and challenging the components from operational, security, and cost perspectives. The focus of our projects is digital marketing, but we are also open to expanding into new areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Steering clients with profound technical and communication skills;
• Guiding our clients with your expertise, advising them to become data-mature and promoting best practices within DEPT and our clients;
• Envisioning a target architecture/implementation with its constituents and rolling out an implementation plan;
• Ensuring clean coding, adherence to best practices, CI/CD, and peer upskilling;
• Brainstorming and conducting workshops with clients to identify new data opportunities;
• Sales pitching, training organization, data product ownership, and data privacy.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

• At least 5+ years of experience in a data engineering role, preferably in a digital agency environment;
• Hands-on experience with at least one (preferably more than one) of the following projects: data migration, data platform setup, end-to-end analytics & reporting setup, data warehouse setup (including modeling), data activation, data quality, data governance, and real-time reporting;
• Hands-on experience in a GCP (Google Cloud Platform) environment; preferably with most of the following: Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud Monitoring & Logging, Beam, Tentacles, and Pub/Sub;
• Fluent in Python and SQL with real-life project experience;
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow and DBT;
• Experience with one of the major analytical DWHs is a plus: BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse;
• Work experience with the following technologies is noteworthy and may be seen as a bonus: AWS (and data-related proprietary technologies), Azure (and data-related proprietary technologies), Adverity, Fivetran, Looker, PBI, Tableau, RDBMS, Redis, Kafka;
• Located in and available to start working in the Netherlands;

• Working proficiency in the English language.
