Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of data engineering or data warehousing experience.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL development.
  • Experience designing and maintaining ETL processes and data integration solutions.
  • Knowledge of database design principles and data modeling methodologies.
  • Data Vault experience is a plus.
  • Experience with SSIS packages.
  • Experience integrating data via APIs, event-driven architectures, or messaging platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with Power BI or other BI tools preferred.
  • Insurance or financial services industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support long-term data warehouse strategy and architecture.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines ingesting data from diverse sources.
  • Build and optimize ETL processes to improve data quality and performance.
  • Contribute to data modeling and data warehouse development.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines; identify automation opportunities.
  • Automate manual data processes to boost operational efficiency.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and availability for business use.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Develop and maintain reports and data extracts as needed.
  • Assist with data governance, including cataloging/classifying assets.
  • Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support data requests for audits, compliance, or regulatory needs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the long-term strategy and architecture for the organization's data warehouse and analytics environment.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest data from a variety of internal and external sources.
  • Build, enhance, and optimize ETL processes to improve data quality, accessibility, and performance.
  • Contribute to data modeling initiatives and data warehouse development.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot existing data pipelines, identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Automate manual data processes to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL development.
  • Experience designing and maintaining ETL processes and data integration solutions.
  • Knowledge of database design principles and data modeling methodologies.
  • Experience with Data Vault is a plus.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting SSIS packages.
  • Experience integrating data through APIs, event-driven architecture, or messaging platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools is preferred.
  • Industry experience within insurance or financial services is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
