Job Summary

Senior Data Engineers spend most of their time hands-on in the creation, feature development, and maintenance of NeueHealth properties. Senior engineers also assist in improving team productivity and system design, and play a key role in fostering a culture of career growth.

This is a work from home position. Preferred locations are TX, MN, FL.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Write traditional code and serverless functions, primarily in Scala, with possible development in C# and T-SQL.
2. Build APIs, data microservices, and ETL pipelines to share data internally and externally, and interface with public data sets.
3. Develop and optimize processes for fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks.
4. Build and support Data Ingestion frameworks deployed in Azure.
5. Promote a culture of DevOps and Quality Assurance.
6. Act as tech lead on projects and guide junior engineers.
7. Document code, frameworks, and team processes.

Education and Professional Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
2. Approximately five years of enterprise data engineering experience in Azure; healthcare IT background preferred.
3. Experience with Scala for batch and streaming data pipelines.
4. API design experience.
5. Extensive experience with data solutions in Azure Cloud, event sourcing, and Big Data architectures.

Preferred Experience

1. Big Data solutions with Databricks, Hive, Spark.
2. Functional programming in Scala and C#.
3. Distributed systems, microservices, or SOA.
4. MLOps or LLMOps for ML workflows.
5. Azure administration and DevOps experience.
6. Containerization with Docker, Kubernetes.
7. Databricks infrastructure management.
8. CI/CD best practices.
