A leading healthcare company seeks a Senior Data Engineer to ingest and transform data to deliver insights that will enable improved services to members. This role provides a unique opportunity to influence strategic decisions, guide best practices, and lead innovative projects within a high-performing team. Candidates should possess significant experience in data engineering within a cloud environment, especially within the Azure data ecosystem.
The senior data engineer in this role will join a team that leverages predictive modeling and analytics to support Humana’s HQRI (Healthcare Quality & Reporting Improvement) department. The team focuses on risk adjustment modeling for our Medicare and Medicaid business. The HQRI department is a high-performing organization with a key role within Humana.
The senior data engineer in this role will partner with data scientists and actuaries to ensure our end-to-end modeling and reporting processes are robust and efficient. The role will also include building new processes and tools as the business needs evolve. The engineer will benefit from a network of software engineers and application developers on peer teams within the department. The candidate must understand the concepts of normalized relational data structures, write and maintain modular code for automation, in accordance with best practices, and develop an understanding of the team’s underlying technology stack. We need someone who can guide the team in best coding and optimization practices within our current tech stack (Azure Synapse Analytics (ASA) and Databricks), and who can be a thought leader as we adopt new technologies.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$106,900 - $147,000 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
