The Opportunity

This Senior Data Engineer position can be remote within the U.S.

As a senior member of the Data Engineering & Analytics team, you will build big data collection and analytics capabilities to uncover insights related to customers, products, and operations. You should be able to work with a geographically distributed team to develop data pipelines capable of handling complex data sets efficiently and securely, and operationalize data science solutions. You will work with tools like Databricks, Redshift, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Spark, and Python.

What You’ll Work On

• Design and implement data pipelines for processing and visualization across various projects
• Develop and maintain data pipeline architecture using AWS services
• Design and optimize data models on AWS Cloud with Databricks, Redshift, RDS, S3
• Integrate large, complex data sets to meet business needs
• Extract, transform, load data as required
• Manage integration tools, databases, warehouses, and analytical systems
• Process unstructured data for analysis
• Collaborate with technology and engineering teams to align data processing with business objectives
• Monitor and optimize data performance, uptime, and scalability
• Create architecture and design documentation
• Support technical planning, reviews, and training
• Build relationships with other teams and stay current with industry trends

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
• At least 4 years of recent experience in Software/Data Engineering or Big Data
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Knowledge of Databricks and/or Spark
• Experience in Python, PySpark, Kafka, Go, and willingness to learn new languages
• Understanding of processing large structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
• Excellent communication skills
• Comfort with asynchronous work in distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with databases, BI tools, data quality, and performance tuning
• Skills in data cleaning, wrangling, visualization, and reporting
• Ability to explore innovative solutions for data issues
• Experience with AWS services like S3, RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, EMR, Glue, Lambda
• Experience in agile environments
• Practical knowledge of Linux
