Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in the Chicago area to design and optimize data pipelines using Python, SQL, and modern data tools. You will work with Kubernetes, Snowflake, and cloud platforms to enable scalable analytics and reporting.

The role requires 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with strong skills in dimensional modeling and orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster. Some onsite presence in Chicago is required, with substantial remote work options.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Data Engineering experience.
• Strong Python and SQL.
• Distributed data systems and Kubernetes experience.
• AWS and/or GCP experience.
• Snowflake preferred.
• Dimensional Modeling (Kimball, Data Vault, or Medallion Architecture) required.
• dbt and workflow orchestration tools (Airflow/Dagster) familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines and data models.
• Collaborate with analytics and product teams to define data requirements.
• Maintain data quality, governance, and performance monitoring.

Job Details

• 8+ years of Data Engineering experience
• Strong Python and SQL
• Distributed data and Kubernetes experience
• AWS and/or GCP
• Snowflake preferred
• Experience working with Dimensional Data Modeling, such as Kimball, Data Vault, or Medallion Architecture required.

• Must be willing to work onsite in Chicago when needed
