Job summary

Keyhole Software is seeking a Senior Microsoft Data Consultant to join our team for a compensation platform modernization. You’ll work across SQL Server, Fabric lakehouse, and Power Apps to resolve issues, improve performance, and deliver enhancements.

The role requires 7+ years in data engineering or DB development, expert T-SQL, and strong collaboration with technical and business stakeholders. This hybrid, full-time position supports a long-term client engagement in the United States.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in database development, data engineering, BI, or related roles with significant SQL Server experience.
• Expert-level T-SQL skills, including complex stored procedures, views, functions, and set-based calculation logic.
• Proven SQL Server performance-tuning experience, including execution plans, indexing, statistics, parameter sensitivity, and blocking.
• Hands-on production experience with Microsoft Fabric, particularly lakehouses and data pipelines.
• Experience developing Power Apps canvas applications using SQL data sources, including delegation limits and performance considerations.
• Experience building or maintaining calculation-heavy business logic (e.g., compensation, payroll, billing, or financial reporting).
• Ability to understand and contribute to lightly documented systems quickly and document them clearly.
• Experience creating technical documentation for complex applications and processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working with sensitive business data and meeting client expectations.
• Willingness to travel for occasional on-site meetings (Lenexa) as required.

Responsibilities

• Learn a calculation-heavy application and become a productive, independent team member for the client.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain complex SQL Server procedures, views, functions, and calculation logic.
• Resolve defects and enhance SQL Server, Fabric lakehouse data, and Power Apps interfaces.
• Diagnose and optimize SQL Server performance using execution plans, indexing, and tuning techniques.
• Support go-live, stabilization, and ongoing refinements of the application.
• Document data flows, procedures, schedules, and runbooks as you learn the system.
• Clarify legacy business rules and help standardize processes.
• Communicate technical concerns and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers and business teams, ensuring knowledge transfer.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to boost productivity and quality.
