Job summary

Trility Consulting LLC is seeking a Senior Data Consultant to modernize an Azure Synapse data platform and migrate workloads to Microsoft Fabric. You will collaborate with client engineers, pressure-test the Fabric architecture, build scalable data pipelines, and implement automated CI/CD workflows while ensuring data quality and governance.

This is a remote W2 role in the United States. Ideal candidates bring hands-on Fabric production experience, expertise in Spark/PySpark, and strong SQL

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Azure Data Services including Fabric, ADF, Databricks or Synapse
• Hands-on Fabric experience in production environments (lakehouses, pipelines, medallion architecture)
• Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines and reusable data ingestion frameworks
• Designing metadata-driven ingestion framework with configuration-based onboarding
• Experience developing Spark notebooks and data transformation workflows (PySpark, Spark SQL)
• Strong SQL skills for transformation, validation, and performance tuning
• Experience validating data migrations and ensuring data quality across source/target
• Experience integrating data from REST APIs, relational and semi-structured data sources
• Familiarity with data governance, lineage, metadata management, catalog concepts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and refine the existing Microsoft Fabric architecture and ingestion patterns
• Design metadata-driven ingestion framework for onboarding new tables/sources via configuration
• Migrate data sources/workloads from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric
• Develop and orchestrate Fabric data pipelines and Spark notebooks
• Analyze pipelines to understand dependencies and translate logic to Fabric
• Build data validation and reconciliation processes for migration accuracy
• Determine appropriate full-load, incremental, or CDC loading strategies
• Implement Git-based CI/CD and environment promotion for Fabric artifacts
• Utilize Claude Code to define specs, accelerate development, and review AI-generated code
• Assess data dictionary, metadata, and lineage requirements (e.g., Purview)
• Collaborate with client engineers to establish engineering standards
• Apply best practices for performance, testing, monitoring, documentation, security, and operations
