Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Compute team in Bellevue, WA. You will design scalable platform primitives for Spark and Airflow, modernize workloads to Databricks, and strengthen governance with Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.

This role shapes data processing across the company. You will work on high-reliability infrastructure, partnering with engineering leaders to set direction and deliver a top-tier developer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale Spark and Databricks or similar platform infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in data orchestration using Airflow for complex job lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with lakehouse fundamentals including Delta Lake and Parquet formats.
• Knowledge of query/serving infrastructure such as Trino or Hive Metastore.

Responsabilités

• Design and build scalable platform primitives for Spark and Airflow to support Robinhood’s data infra.
• Lead migration of Spark workloads to serverless Databricks and Delta Lake architectures.
• Optimize compute resources to manage costs across large-scale systems.
• Collaborate with analytics and product teams to provide a seamless data processing experience.
• Improve platform reliability and governance with metadata management and access controls.
