Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Senior Data Center Security Installation Program Manager (Project Leader 2) to lead complex nationwide electronic security installations for federal, local and commercial customers within the SES unit.

You will manage both program-level and project-level activities, drive schedules, budgets, and safety, and mentor newer project managers. The ideal candidate has 10+ years designing, installing, and testing security systems, plus Bachelor’s (BS) in a technical field and

  • Ten years minimum designing, installing and testing electronic security systems.
  • At least ten years of installing projects on nationwide government contracts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; Master’s preferred for advancement.
  • Experience with contract drawings, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills; ability to lead teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation of electronic security systems across multiple sites.
  • Establish procedures to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Manage site managers, coordinate with customers and general contractors.
  • Develop proposals, change orders, and installation schedules.
  • Forecast cash flow and manpower; monitor project financials.
  • Ensure safety compliance and quality workmanship.

We are seeking a Senior Data Center Security Installation Program Manager (Project Leader 2)to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities and Activities Include but are Not Limited to:

Program-level responsibilities include:

  • Continuous improvement of program process.
  • Assess program for operational efficiencies.
  • Support proposal development and bid responses.
  • Lead monthly gate checks for all data center projects.
  • Mentor new project managers on company and program process.
  • Visit sites for quality assurance and leadership representation.
  • Support project staffing efforts.
  • Be a champion of our culture of safety.
  • Be the customer point of contact for escalations.
  • Support program financial forecasting.

Project-level responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the installation of electronic security systems at multiple sites.
  • Establish and implement procedures and controls to ensure that security installation projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage project site managers and supervisors.
  • Interface with customer personnel and respond to their issues and concerns.
  • Coordination with the general contractor and other trades.
  • Manage subcontractors and oversee their performance.
  • Document project issues/conditions.
  • Prepare installation proposals, change orders, and schedules.
  • Prepare status reports and briefings.
  • Responsible for the overall financial management of the project(s).
  • Responsible for on-time project completion.
  • Coordinating and running a project kick-off meeting (PKOM).
  • Forecasting cash flow and manpower needs for projects.
  • Ordering materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Prepare monthly reports analyzing the budget, schedule, cash flow, and manpower.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost-saving measures, quality improvement and incorporating best practices.
  • Ensuring all safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Plan and execute project completion and punch list.
  • Oversee warranty service for completed installations.
Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • A minimum of ten years of experience in the design, installation, integration, and testing of electronic security systems. Within this timeframe, at least ten years of experience managing installation projects on nationwide security installation federal government contracts.
  • 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (BS) 7+ years of experience with a Master's of Science degree. Experience working on electrical projects ranging from $500,000 to $10M.
  • Experience working with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals.
  • Experience using sophisticated Project Mgmt, CPM Scheduling, Cost and AutoCAD software.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints and drawings on electrical projects.
  • Familiar with standard deliverables and work process on projects.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and writing skills and be a problem owner/solver. Proven ability to effectively plan and organize one's own activities or the activities of others.

  • Exceptional MS Excel skills Experience with scheduling (MS Project) a plus
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in MCD core disciplines
