Job summary

PayCruit is seeking a Project Engineer to support design, engineering, and delivery of modular data center infrastructure projects in Houston. The role targets hands-on engineers with 7+ years in mechanical or electrical disciplines, capable of leading technical efforts and managing multiple projects from design through delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• Minimum 7 years of mechanical engineering and design experience required.
• Experience with mechanical systems and piping is essential.
• Familiarity with industry codes and safety regulations preferred.
• Experience in large infrastructure, industrial facilities, or data centers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Engineering Manager and own key technical aspects of data center projects.
• Coordinate with Sales, Project Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing for project delivery.
• Lead technical discussions and guide engineering teams.
• Onboard and mentor new engineers as projects grow.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and documents.
• Ensure designs meet customer requirements and industry standards.
• Develop scopes of work, execution plans, and project schedules.
• Prepare requisitions for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Support piping and fire protection system design and provide piping load data to structural engineers.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for clients and participate in design reviews and site activities.
• Manage engineering changes and documentation; stay current on data center technologies.
