Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Stafford, VA is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Engineer to join the Data Center Engineering Operations team.

You will supervise critical infrastructure systems, escalate complex issues, and drive safety, reliability, and efficiency across campus data centers. The role requires a US Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (with polygraph) and a willingness to travel to active sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment.
• Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for facilities issues and oversee routine and emergency services on critical systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures within SLA.
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and collaborate with Facility Manager to set team culture.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations and vendor support teams.
• May assist in building out new facilities and projects to increase efficiency.
• Work outside normal hours for maintenance and respond to out-of-hours emergencies.
