Job summary

Supermicro seeks a Staff Data Center Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of high-density data centers for AI, cloud, and hyperscale use in the U.S. and globally.

The role requires coordinating with mechanical, civil, and network teams, selecting critical power equipment, and delivering compliant, efficient, and scalable power infrastructure while mentoring junior engineers and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or power engineering required.
• 12+ years of electrical design experience for large-scale data centers.
• Expertise in MV/LV systems and power distribution.
• Experience with power modeling tools (ETAP, SKM) and CAD/Revit.
• Willing to travel ~20% domestically and internationally.
• Strong PM and cross-functional team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical design for new and retrofit data centers.
• Prepare SLDs, load calculations, power analyses, and arc flash studies.
• Select equipment: generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS, PDUs, busways.
• Lead construction, commissioning, testing, and issue resolution.
• Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
• Coordinate with mechanical, network, and architectural teams.
