Job summary

Hut 8 Corp. seeks a Mechanical Systems Expert embedded in a data center build to ensure operable, maintainable cooling systems at turnover. You will review designs, witness testing, verify turnover packages, and support early operations while feeding lessons back into design standards.

This full-time on-site role requires 8+ years in critical facilities, deep knowledge of chilled water plants, and commissioning fluency across complex systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in critical facilities mechanical operations, commissioning, or chief-engineer-track roles.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of chilled water plants, hydronic systems, and data center cooling topologies.
• Level 1-5 commissioning fluency from the witness/operations side, including integrated systems testing.
• Sharp eye for maintainability in design reviews: access, isolation, and instrumentation gaps.
• Turnover documentation rigor - read the O&M before signing for it.
• Comfortable embedded with a construction team while holding the operations line.
• Water treatment and cleanliness protocol experience for critical hydronic systems.
• CFC/EPA certifications, trade licensure, or engineering degree are welcomed paths.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical and cooling designs with an operations lens and file comments that drive design improvements.
• Walk installations at milestones to verify operability and proper installations.
• Witness Level 3-5 commissioning, including tests, failure scenarios, and integrated systems testing.
• Verify turnover packages (O&Ms, as-builts, labels, baselines, and PM inputs) before turnover.
• Support early operations stabilization with alarm tuning, setpoint refinement, and first-month troubleshooting.
• Provide feedback to Hut 8 design standards for future projects.
