Job summary

IREN is seeking a Commissioning Subject Matter Expert who will define and own commissioning standards across all sites. You will write specifications, acceptance criteria, and testing protocols, serving as the technical escalation point for campus teams and guiding vendors and third-party authorities.

The role is senior, program-level, and will influence IREN sites worldwide. Expect travel up to 25% and a remote-friendly setup within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in data center commissioning or related engineering roles.
• Authored commissioning specs or standards used across multiple projects.
• Deep knowledge of data center controls and monitoring systems.
• Experience reviewing third-party commissionings and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Author and maintain commissioning specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Act as technical escalation point for campus commissioning teams.
• Review CA plans, test scripts and reports for compliance.
• Provide input to Engineering and Procurement on design and scopes.
• Lead factory witness testing strategy for critical equipment.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and update standards accordingly.
• Own the controls commissioning standard for BMS/EPMS/SCADA/PLCs.
• Track regional standards and update company-wide guidelines.
• Deliver technical training and mentor project leads.
