Job Title: Senior Data Center Construction Manager

Department: Construction

Reports to: Vice President of Construction

Employment Status: Exempt / Full-Time

Job Level: Individual Contributor

Primary Work Location: Remote, US (up to 25% travel)

Position Summary

As the Senior Data Center Construction Manager, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale, mission-critical Data Center construction projects. You will ensure projects are delivered on scope, budget, and schedule, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices. This role requires proven leadership, technical expertise in Data Center construction, and the ability to manage complex contractor and stakeholder relationships.

Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Extensive experience managing mission-critical Data Center construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations specific to Data Centers.
  • Proven track record managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional organizational, scheduling, and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software.
  • Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety regulations in construction.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans including scope, budget, schedule, and resources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define objectives and success criteria.
  • Conduct site and risk assessments for planning.
  • Select and manage subcontractors and vendors.
  • Lead construction activities ensuring alignment with plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Monitor quality, safety, and adherence to design during construction.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections, addressing issues promptly.
  • Manage project documentation, change orders, and communication.
  • Create and control project budgets, implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Work with finance teams on forecasts and reports.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising safety or quality.
  • Maintain detailed project schedules with milestones.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to minimize disruptions.
  • Lead project teams, providing guidance and support.
  • Foster collaboration among teams, partners, and contractors.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings to review progress and resolve issues.
  • Perform other duties as needed for project success.

Working Conditions

Remote: Work from home with reliable internet, necessary equipment, and availability via MS Teams, phone, fax, email during business hours.

Office Environment: Business hours, with possible overtime to meet deadlines and commitments. Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate.

Site Location: 24-hour facility requiring shifts, including nights/weekends, overtime, and working in challenging conditions. Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate.
