Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer III to lead Level 1–5 commissioning across electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems in a data center environment. You will manage commissioning plans, witness testing, and coordinate with multiple teams to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires 7+ years in data center engineering or commissioning, MS Office proficiency, and willingness to travel up to 75% across U.S. sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Seven or more years of work experience in data center engineering, commissioning, project management, or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel to other Data Center locations as required.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all site construction activity and installations, coordinating with QTS Development Team and external resources.
• Develop comprehensive commissioning plans for Levels 1–5 systems across electrical, mechanical, and BMS components.
• Conduct thorough commissioning activities and ensure systems are installed, tested, and validated per standards.
• Identify, track, and resolve issues; provide feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Create and review commissioning documentation, including test procedures and reports.
• Witness equipment testing and validate sequences of operations and documentation.
• Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, contractors, and facilities operations for seamless integration.
• Implement quality control measures, regulatory compliance, and best practices.
• Develop and test SOP/MOP/ERP in coordination with facilities operations; provide end-user training.
