Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Staff Commissioning Engineer to own the Spark program end to end, coordinating factory testing in Brighton and on-site integration at deployment sites. You will set quality gates, drive improvements, and lead cross-functional teams through commissioning from factory to operations.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years in data center commissioning, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on experience with modular data center infrastructure, including switchgear, UPS, and PDUs.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years in data center commissioning or related critical infrastructure delivery.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Expert knowledge of L1–L5 commissioning and related documentation.
• Working knowledge of electrical distribution including switchgear, UPS and PDUs.
• Hands-on commissioning experience with data center infrastructure.
• Experience developing factory testing for prefabricated or modular equipment.
• Ability to review construction drawings, P&IDs, and test procedures.
• Willingness to travel to Brighton factory and deployment sites up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Own the Spark commissioning program end to end and define factory/site split for Cx plans.
• Lead factory acceptance and integration testing of electrical and controls systems.
• Set first-article inspection, in-process checks, and ship-readiness criteria with manufacturing.
• Oversee installation validation and IST at deployment sites.
• Track commissioning issues and drive fixes into design and processes.
• Manage third-party commissioning agents and equipment suppliers.
• Serve as primary escalation point for electrical issues in factory and field.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams on scope and milestones.
• Deliver complete turnover documentation and support handover to operations.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements across activities.
