Job summary

NTG seeks an SME Data Center Architect to evaluate DoW data center facilities and guide upgrade or replacement strategies. You will assess power, cooling, and space, review network infrastructure, and ensure compliance with Uptime Institute and DoW standards. Onsite work in the National Capital Region is required.

You must hold a TS/SCI clearance with Yankee White eligibility and have 10+ years in data center design or infrastructure evaluation. Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with Yankee White eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or related field.
• Minimum ten years in data center design, operations, or infra evaluation.
• Expert knowledge of data center power, UPS, generators, and electrical infra.
• Understanding of Uptime Institute Tier Standards I-IV and certification processes.
• Proficiency in network architecture evaluation and structured cabling.
• Experience with DoW IT infrastructure requirements and security frameworks.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills for technical assessment reports.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills for senior leadership.
• Extensive senior-level experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive data center assessments for upgrade vs replacement.
• Analyze power, space, cooling/HVAC for scalability and sustainability.
• Evaluate network architecture, cabling, TEMPEST/EMSEC, connectivity.
• Apply Uptime Institute, TIA-942 standards and DoW requirements.
• Develop assessment reports with upgrade or replacement recommendations.
• Collaborate with facility managers, engineers, and leadership to align findings.
• Identify risks and gaps; propose mitigation strategies.
• Provide modernization roadmaps and implementation planning guidance.
