Job summary

Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation (VT ARC) is seeking a Senior to Principal Enterprise Network Engineer focused on data center networking and firewall engineering. This role serves as a senior technical authority for architecture, implementation, sustainment and modernization across mission critical programs within TSSCI environments.

The position spans requirements through deployment and transition, with multi vendor connectivity across WAN, LAN, and air-gapped enclaves.

Qualifications

Senior to principal level expertise in data center networking and firewall engineering.
Experience designing implementing integrating and modernizing data center networks and enterprise firewalls in mission critical environments.
Ability to lead architecture efforts while performing hands-on design and troubleshooting.
Experience with DoDAF mission engineering model based systems engineering or enterprise architecture.
Must be US citizen with active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead enterprise network engineering for data centers and firewalls from architecture input through implementation and transition.
Design and modernize data center routing and switching Infrastructure for physical and virtual servers.
Configure and troubleshoot enterprise firewalls including policies NAT VPNs DMZs and high availability.
Develop resilient network designs focusing on redundancy and performance across multi enclave environments.
Provide SME level leadership across Cisco, Juniper, Aruba and related platforms.
Translate architecture objectives into executable network designs and deployment roadmaps.
Oversee routing and transport technologies, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS and overlay/underlay.
Collaborate with security and architecture teams for secure multi-domain integration.
Mentor engineers and establish network engineering standards and best practices.
