Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 4+ years; or 10+ years experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience building datasets, data pipelines, and transformations.
• Experience designing data ontologies, semantic models, and enterprise data warehouse solutions.
• At least 2 years of ETL/ELT, data storage, and data modeling using enterprise tools and/or Python.
• At least 2 years of Power BI or similar visualization tools.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Python, SQL, TypeScript, and version-controlled code repositories.
• Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and communication skills.
• Experience collaborating across functional teams in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data models, ontologies, and supporting metadata.
• Develop dashboards and analytical applications for self-service reporting and actionable insights.
• Build and support data pipelines for ETL/ELT and data integration.
• Support data warehouse governance, including data quality, security, and access provisioning.
• Lead customer planning sessions to define requirements and prioritize data initiatives.
• Coordinate with IT, analytics, and business teams to align solutions and avoid duplication of effort.

Rocketdyne is seeking a Senior Specialist, Data Architect and Engineer to develop and support data solutions that improve business operations and decision-making. This role combines data architecture, engineering, analytics, and cross-functional technical leadership.

The selected candidate will design and maintain data models, pipelines, dashboards, and user-facing applications using Snowflake, Power BI, and other enterprise tools. They will collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into reliable solutions while supporting data quality, security, and governance.

Essential Functions

• Design and maintain data models, ontologies, and supporting metadata.
• Develop dashboards and analytical applications that enable self-service reporting and actionable insights.
• Build and support data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and integrating enterprise data.
• Support data warehouse governance, including data quality, security, and access provisioning.
• Lead customer planning sessions to define requirements, improve processes, and prioritize data initiatives.
• Coordinate with IT, analytics, and business teams to align solutions and avoid duplication of effort.
• Lead cross-functional technical teams and communicate recommendations to stakeholders and executives.

Required Qualifications
