Job summary

Northern Trust seeks a data architecture leader to design and govern enterprise data models across source, integration, and consumption layers. You will translate business needs into robust data structures and guide semantic modeling for agentic AI-enabled data products.

The role requires hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Cortex AI/Genie, and governance of data contracts and lineage. Collaboration with security and risk teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data architecture, data engineering, or information management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Hands-on SqlDBM experience (or equivalent modern toolset).
• Proven experience with dbt Labs.
• Good Python skills, API integration, automation.
• Snowflake and Databricks experience including Cortex AI and Genie.
• Knowledge of OWL, RDF, SPARQL and enterprise ontology design.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute with data model design aligned to data mesh and medallion architectures.
• Govern and maintain enterprise data model library, enforce naming standards and versioning.
• Define canonical data entities and lineage across layers.
• Translate business requirements into data structures with engineering teams.
• Guide semantic models for agentic AI solutions.
