Job summary

PNC is seeking a Senior Data Architect in the Technology organization, based in Cleveland, OH or Pittsburgh, PA, to define, govern and evolve the AMG domain data architecture across analytical and operational data platforms.

The role requires leading data modernization efforts, migrating from Hadoop to modern lakehouse architectures, and collaborating with engineering, EA, and business stakeholders to ensure scalable, governed solutions aligned with long-term strategy.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architecture for domain analytical and operational data platforms.
• Lead architecture efforts to evolve legacy data platforms toward modern lakehouse/open-data architectures.
• Define migration strategies for Hadoop-based analytical environments and data workloads.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to improve scalability, interoperability, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
• Drive adoption of modern data management practices, storage architectures, metadata strategies, and platform operating models.
• Help develop architecture roadmaps that align business priorities, technology strategy, and data modernization initiatives.
• Provide architectural leadership for strategic initiatives involving analytics, operational intelligence, AI/ML, digital applications, and enterprise integration.
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide guidance to delivery teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to align data solutions with broader technology strategies.
• Mentor engineers, solution architects, and development teams on data architecture best practices.
