Job summary

City of Pasadena is seeking a Senior Applications Developer serving as a Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of the City’s enterprise data ecosystem. You will architect data platforms, build pipelines, and manage SQL Server environments to support enterprise applications and analytics.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in MIS, CS or related field.
• At least six years of progressively responsible experience in application configuration, development and systems analysis.
• Experience building enterprise data models and supporting BI solutions using Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data architecture, including data models and scalable data platforms.
• Lead end-to-end enterprise reporting, govern semantic data layer, standardize metrics, enable self-service analytics.
• Design and maintain data pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from multiple systems and sources.
• Develop and maintain data warehouses, lakehouses, or modern analytics environments (Microsoft Fabric).
• Oversee database administration practices for SQL Server including performance, security, and resiliency.
• Create curated datasets and semantic models to support dashboards using Power BI and BI tools.
• Translate business needs into scalable data architecture and reporting solutions; document data flows and standards.
