Job summary

UpClear Inc. is seeking a skilled Data Architect to design, optimize, and scale our data and reporting layers. This role focuses on a robust SQL‑based data warehouse and BI data models.

You will build data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and improve data models for BI, with emphasis on POC data from CPG and analytics. The role requires 4 days onsite weekly at West 22nd Street, NYC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer in BI environments.
• Strong expertise in SQL and data warehouse design principles.
• Hands-on experience with dimensional modeling (Kimball or similar).

• Design and optimize data architecture to support scalable, high-performance reporting and analytics.
• Develop and maintain SQL-based data warehouse structures.
• Improve and standardize data models used for BI and reporting tools.
• Build and manage data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Data Architect to design,optimize, and scale our data and reporting layers. This role is also open to contractors. You will focus on building a robust SQL-based data warehouse, improving data models for business intelligence, andleveragingMicrosoft Fabric to create efficient, reliable data pipelines.The ideal candidate has experience working withConsumer PackagedGoods (CPG) data and understands the nuances of sales, distribution, retail, and customer analytics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Familiarity with modern data architecture patterns

• Hands-on mindset: comfortable contributing technically while shaping the strategic direction.

Nice to Have

• Experience working withConsumer PackagedGoods (CPG) data (POS data, syndicated data,salesand distribution)

• Familiarity with Power BI or other visualization tools

• Exposure to data governance and data quality frameworks

The salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary several factors may be considered as applicable including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority.
For contractors, compensation will be offered as an hourly rate or fixed project fee, depending on the scope of work and experience level. The estimated pay range for this role is $77 to $97 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and agreed-upon deliverables.
