Job summary

Southern Company is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to lead the design and governance of an Azure Databricks Lakehouse platform that serves 4.8 million utility customers. You will own end-to-end architecture, including data ingestion, replication, storage, and governance to ensure reliability, security, and scalable analytics.

You will collaborate with cybersecurity, data science, and business stakeholders to enable ML and advanced analytics while maintaining enterprise standards and cost

Qualifications

• Design and govern enterprise-scale cloud data platforms, preferably Azure-based Lakehouse.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture of the Azure Databricks Lakehouse platform and data pipelines.
• Define enterprise architecture standards and data modeling patterns.
• Architect near real-time and batch CIS data replication into the Lakehouse.
• Govern integration patterns for downstream operational and analytical apps.
• Serve as final architectural approval for platform standards and data integration approaches.
• Collaborate with data science, analytics, and business teams on ML/AI use cases.
