Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Data Architect to own and advance our enterprise data environment. This hands-on role spans data architecture, data engineering, and DBA responsibilities, with a focus on BI, data warehousing, and SQL Server administration.

You will design, build, deploy, and production-support scalable data solutions, partnering with executives and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data architectures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in BI, data warehousing, and/or SQL Server administration.
• Expert-level SQL Server and T-SQL proficiency.
• Strong data warehouse architecture and dimensional modeling experience.
• Experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• ETL/ELT development with SSIS and/or cloud data services.
• Advanced Power BI data modeling, security, deployment, and refresh administration.
• Production DBA experience: backup/recovery, monitoring, migrations, upgrades, high availability.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise data warehouses, data marts, staging environments, semantic layers, and reporting architectures.
• Develop dimensional data models (fact/dimension, star/snowflake, historical data).
• Build and support production ETL/ELT pipelines (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, T-SQL).
• Integrate data across SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Azure SQL, APIs, and files.
• Build governed Power BI datasets, semantic models, dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting.
• Own SQL Server performance tuning and resolve queries, ETL issues, and blocking/deadlocks.
• Administer production SQL Server environments (security, backup/recovery, DR, migrations, upgrades, availability).
• Implement data quality, reconciliation, auditing, lineage, logging, and alerting processes.
• Ensure accuracy from source systems to final reporting; collaborate with business leaders and analysts.
• Support SDLC, testing, UAT, deployments, change control, and incident response.

Job Details

We are seeking a senior, hands-on data professional who can own solutions from requirements and architecture through development, deployment, optimization, and production support.

This is not simply a Power BI/dashboard development position and not a traditional DBA role. The ideal candidate can architect the solution, build it, deploy it, and support it in production.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and maintain enterprise data warehouses, data marts, staging environments, semantic layers, and reporting architectures
• Develop dimensional data models utilizing fact/dimension tables, star and snowflake schemas, and historical data strategies
• Build and support production ETL/ELT pipelines using technologies such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and T-SQL
• Integrate data across SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Azure SQL, APIs, files, and other enterprise systems
• Build governed Power BI datasets, semantic models, dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting
• Develop complex T-SQL, stored procedures, views, functions, tables, indexes, and data-processing routines
• Own SQL Server performance tuning and troubleshoot queries, ETL processes, reports, blocking, deadlocks, and resource issues
• Administer production SQL Server environments, including security, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, migrations, upgrades, and availability
• Implement data-quality, reconciliation, auditing, lineage, logging, alerting, and error-handling processes
• Ensure accuracy and consistency from source systems through final reporting
• Partner directly with business leaders, analysts, application teams, and executives to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Support SDLC, testing, UAT, deployments, change control, documentation, and production incident response
• Provide architectural guidance, code/design reviews, technical standards, and mentorship to other team members

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of progressive experience across BI, data engineering, data warehousing, database architecture, and/or SQL Server administration
• Expert‑level SQL Server and T-SQL
• Strong hands‑on experience with data warehouse architecture and dimensional modeling
• Experience personally designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Strong ETL/ELT development experience with SSIS and/or modern cloud data services
• Advanced Power BI experience including data modeling, Power Query, DAX, security, deployment, and refresh administration
• Working knowledge of SSRS
• Real‑world production SQL Server DBA experience including backup/recovery, security, monitoring, troubleshooting, migrations, upgrades, and high availability
• Strong SQL performance‑tuning and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to independently own complex technical projects from architecture through production
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders

The Ideal Profile

We're looking for someone who has personally designed the data model, written the complex SQL, built the production ETL pipeline, developed the Power BI solution, administered SQL Server, validated source‑to‑report accuracy, and troubleshot critical production issues.
