Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a Lead-Data Analyst to design and develop electronic data capture systems for clinical studies, monitor data quality, and prepare final datasets for analysis.

Qualifications

• 5+ progressive years of IT experience including strong database design, data architecture and data transform processes.
• Experience with data governance including implementation of a data governance framework.
• Experience with leading industrial tools for data lake, big data, or ETL.
• Experience with enterprise reporting tools for development of reports as applicable.
• Experience creating dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g. PBI, Tableau, Qlik, and data warehousing applications) and source control systems (e.g., Epic, Workday) as applicable.
• Some experience with Master Data Management and Data Dictionary Standards.
• Some experience with regulatory requirements and standards as applicable.
• Experience providing technical guidance and mentorship within Data Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development of data strategy supporting business and organizational objectives.
• Provide expert knowledge of industry best practices related to data management, integration, pipeline architecture, reporting and visualization.
• Lead the design and implementation of harmonized data models and database solutions for querying, extraction and visualization.
• Implement and monitor data governance strategy in line with regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with domain experts to develop secure data sharing solutions.
• Evaluate operational processes and data systems to identify database needs.
• Research new technologies to add value to data management.
• Mentor junior staff in data management systems and practices.
• Troubleshoot complex data integration issues and optimize pipelines.
• Monitor data ingest performance and implement improvements for on-prem or cloud systems.
• Lead end-to-end analytics projects including dashboards and automated reporting.
• Mentor junior team members in data management practices.
• Perform other duties to meet department and institutional goals.
• Maintain regular attendance.
