Job summary

Frost is seeking a Senior Data Architect to independently assess enterprise architecture and drive new data strategies across business lines. You will help deploy modern data platforms, ensure scalable data models, and guide analytics initiatives.

The role fosters a culture of integrity, caring and excellence within a banking-focused tech environment. The position requires 8+ years in data management, a Master’s in a relevant field, and hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and streaming

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent.
• 8+ years experience in data management, data warehousing, ETL and streaming.
• Experience with architecture, design and integration across lines of business.
• Ability to present data insights to stakeholders at all levels.
• Knowledge of cloud concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Understanding data platform delivery: cloud, APIs, automation, CI/CD.

Job description

The candidate for this exciting opportunity will need to be living in the San Antonio, Texas or the Austin, Texas or the Dallas, Texas areas. This role will require 2 to 3 days per month at the One Frost Corporate Campus office in San Antonio. Frost will help with relocation costs to move to Texas area if one is not currently living in those areas.

Who You Are

As a Senior Data Architect, you will independently assess the existing enterprise architecture and maintain a current knowledge of its functionality. In this role, you will collaborate with multiple lines of business to effectively deploy new architecture strategies to benefit specific business needs. What You’ll Do

• Develop data migration and streaming strategies to evolve bank architecture and efficiently move data throughout the company
• Create an inventory of the data necessary to build and implement a modern data architecture
• Maintain a repository of all data architecture procedures and artifacts
• Build and manage data models for database structures, Analytics & AI/ML applications
• Establish guidelines around data architecture and modeling
• Provide training, coaching, supervising staff and participate in increasing staff knowledge for data
• Communicate new system strategies, designs, and methods to engineers throughout all lines of business to maintain a clear understanding of objectives and procedures

What You’ll Need

• Masters Degree in a Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience with data management in data warehouse, ETL, and real-time streaming
• Demonstrated experience with architecture, design, and integration
• Demonstrated experience in effectively presenting data-based insights and recommendations to all levels of stakeholders
• Demonstrated knowledge of cloud computing concepts such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
• Demonstrated experience effectively presenting data-based insights and recommendations to all levels of stakeholders
• Understanding of architectural design, data platform delivery in technologies that include but not limited to Cloud, ETL, data storage, data modeling, APIs/micro-services, automaton, continuous integration/continuous deployment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional Preferred Skills

• Demonstrated experience with Data warehouse, Data lakes, Big data platforms such as Teradata, Databricks, Snowflake and Hadoop
• Demonstrated experience in no sql, streaming and ETL technologies such as Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Informatica, Kafka
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, SQL
• Knowledge of data visualization, data migration and data modeling tools
• Experience with Azure Fabric, Databricks or Snowflake is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience at a financial institution
