Job summary

Position Summary

• Role Objective: Design, build, and scale high-performance data pipelines from disparate datasources into a lakehouse architecture completely from scratch, and syndicate data outbound to consumers in custom pipelines.
• Key Focus: Architect an AI-ready greenfield platform evaluating premium tools like Databricks alongside native AWS services.
• Impact: You will own the foundational data strategy, directly enabling our fintech platform to deploy future machine learning and AI initiatives at scale while supporting near term product deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Greenfield Architecture: Design and implement the foundational data lakehouse structure, cataloging systems, and storage layers on AWS.
• AI-Ready Infrastructure: Build foundational frameworks (e.g., feature stores, model training data pipelines) to ensure data is clean, labeled, and instantly available for future ML/AI initiatives.
• Pipeline Engineering: Build robust, high-throughput batch and real-time ingestion pipelines from the ground up: ETL Expertise
• Infrastructure Selection: Evaluate trade-offs between third-party SaaS platforms and native AWS-managed equivalents to build a cost-effective, scalable stack.
• Fintech Security: Implement day-one security infrastructure, including data governance, RBAC, and masking for sensitive financial data using AWS IAM, Lake Formation, or Unity Catalog.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, Product, and DevOps to align the platform with future product scaling.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of data engineering experience, with a track record of building data platforms from scratch. Proven record of pipelines handling, enriching and syndicating large datasets (1 billion rows +)
• 2+ years in a senior level data architecting role that includes strategy and execution
• Hands on AWS experience is a must
• Expertise with Python, ETL Pipelines, and relational data bases such as SQL, NoSQL etc

Compensation: $165,000+ and a solid bonus with great perks & benefits
