Job summary

Onyx Government Services is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support Federal data management and Advanced Analytics projects. You will extract data, create reports and dashboards, ensure data quality, and provide ETL support while collaborating with stakeholders to drive insights.

The role requires expertise in Tableau, SAS, Python, and AI/ML, plus strong SQL skills and leadership capabilities. A BI or NACLC Public Trust clearance is required; sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of BI development or data processing/analytical experience.
• At least 5 years of work experience in an analytical role.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Tableau including Desktop, Server/Cloud, dashboards, data visualization, reporting and analytics.
• Experience with SAS development including SAS/Macro, Data Step, and SAS/Access; Enterprise Guide and Enterprise Miner a plus.
• Strong SQL skills and Tableau development experience.
• Strong conceptual, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to partner with data scientists, AI/ML engineers, data engineers, and business stakeholders on AI and ML initiatives.
• Analyze and prepare data for AI/ML models and support model development, validation and performance analysis.
• Support Generative AI and LLM-related initiatives, including identifying business use cases and evaluating AI-generated outputs.
• Apply Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn for data analysis and modeling.
• Strong leadership, communication and writing skills; ability to demonstrate benefits of analytics to clients.

Responsibilities

• Extract data from relational databases, EDW and Foundry for analysis.
• Engage with stakeholders to identify initiatives and solve business problems using data and advanced analytics.
• Perform QA of reporting and dashboard deliverables to ensure data and analysis quality.
• Collaborate to align requirements with data and analytics solutions and empower insights.
• Coordinate and facilitate requirement gathering across discovery, analysis, design and testing phases.
• Monitor business changes and recommend analytics improvements.
• Create Tableau SOPs and document development for knowledge transfer.
