Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Data Analyst in Chicago, IL to leverage analytics and technical skills for innovative data solutions and capabilities.

You will tackle business problems through three pillars: Innovation, Business Intelligence, and Data Management, partnering with stakeholders to design dashboards and actionable insights. The role requires a quantitative degree and 2+ years of analytics experience, with scripting (Python, R, Spark, SQL) and experience with data warehouses/SQL.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, OR, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related) plus 2+ years of data analytics experience.
• At least 1 year of experience with at least one scripting language.
• At least 1 year of experience with BI visualization tools.
• At least 1 year of experience querying, analyzing and working with data languages and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Innovate by mining complex data sources and building well‑managed data solutions and self‑service tools.
• Partner with the business to design dashboards, metrics, and insights for data visualization.
• Drive data quality through metadata, lineage, and governance; work with Tech teams on security and access controls.
