Job summary

Apple Inc. seeks a Senior Data Analyst for Health Operations (MSO) in Cupertino, California. You will own analytical frameworks, metrics, and reporting to tell the story of performance and direction.

Qualifications

  • Must have bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, biostatistics, healthcare, operations research, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in business insights, data analytics, or a strategy & analytics role; at least 2 years in a lead/senior IC capacity.
  • Experience developing KPIs or operational metrics and documenting definitions and calculations.
  • Ability to influence clinical and operational stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Translate complex business problems into structured analytical frameworks and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong SQL; Python or equivalent scripting for data analysis; ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau or AWS QuickSight; experience presenting to executives.
  • Ability to be onsite; this role is a hybrid, in-person position.

We are seeking a senior individual contributor at the intersection of deep analytical work and strategic business insight. In this role, you will own the analytical frameworks, metrics, and reporting that tell the story of how the business is performing and where it is headed. You bring the rare ability to build rigorous, scalable data solutions and translate what they reveal into forward-looking insights that influence how clinical and operational leaders plan, invest, and act. If you believe that the most powerful analytics isn't just about answering questions, it's about shaping the questions worth asking this role was built for you.You will own the design and build of business reporting from the ground up for launch of new services. You will partner closely with clinical, operational, product, and engineering teams to define how the service measures success and to translate complex data into insights that drive real decisions. Beyond the immediate launch scope, this person will serve as a leader within the analytics function setting standards, helping shape what a world-class healthcare analytics team looks like at scale, and operating with a high degree of autonomy. This is a high-impact role for someone who brings deep craft in data and visualization, strong executive presence, and the drive to do their best work in a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Own the design, development, and ongoing governance of analytical frameworks and KPI systems for health operations, defining what the business measures, how it measures it, and building the reporting infrastructure that makes those metrics actionable across operational teams.
  • Serve as both the analytical engine and strategic insight partner conducting deep quantitative analyses to surface the trends that matter most, and translating those findings into clear narratives and data-driven recommendations that directly influence business strategy.
  • Serve as the primary analytical partner to health operations leadership partnering to define goals, pressure-test assumptions, monitor performance against plan, and proactively surface risks and opportunities before they become issues.
  • Develop scalable reporting including establishing the reporting foundation for new service and feature launches.
  • Define and champion analytics standards and best practices across the team, driving scale, efficiency, and consistency in how data is delivered.
  • Partner with analytics engineering to ensure reporting infrastructure is built on a scalable, well-documented data foundation ensuring solutions are structured for self-serve access and trusted across the organization as a single source of truth.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Biostatistics, Business, Healthcare, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in business insights, data analytics, or a strategy & analytics role with at least 2 years in a lead or senior individual contributor capacity.
  • Experience contributing to the development of KPIs or operational metrics including working with stakeholders to document definitions, validate calculation logic, and maintain consistency in reporting over time.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence clinical and operational stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to translate complex, ambiguous business problems into structured analytical frameworks and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong SQL proficiency and experience with Python or equivalent scripting for data analysis paired with the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau or AWS QuickSight for analysis, insight synthesis, data product delivery, and executive presentations.
  • Ability to be onsite; this role is a hybrid, in-person position
Preferred Qualifications
  • Business insights, data visualization, analytics, or reporting experience preferably in a healthcare delivery setting.
  • Deep business acumen with the ability to rapidly understand health operational workflows, clinical program performance, and patient experience drivers and apply that context to build strategically meaningful analyses.
  • Experience building analytics capabilities in early-stage or launch contexts designing business reporting and insight frameworks from zero to one.
  • Familiarity with KPI and performance management frameworks such as OKRs or operational scorecards, and an interest in how data infrastructure supports tracking and accountability at scale.
  • Background in health operations, clinical operations, or healthcare delivery analytics with an understanding of how patient experience, clinical quality, care utilization, and operational efficiency metrics work together to shape care outcomes.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred) and an interest in how AI and analytics techniques can enhance healthcare analytics workflows and accelerate clinical and operational decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience leading analytics efforts across cross-functional teams, with the ability to set direction and influence clinical and business decisions.
  • Superb communication, social, and presentation skills with meticulous attention to detail.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,500 and $263,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
