Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Lead Data Analyst in the Syracuse, NY area to join the Protection, Control, Metering & Telecom Engineering (PCMT) department. The role combines engineering analytics with business operations and cross-functional collaboration for critical grid modernization initiatives.

You will work with engineering professionals, consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver high-impact insights, develop dashboards, and support procurement and planning.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent with several years of work experience in finance, engineering, or business.
• Knowledge of project management techniques is required.
• Experience with protection, control, metering and telecom materials is preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, SAP and Cascade is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering teams to support high-impact projects that enhance grid reliability.
• Coordinate and manage engineering consultant and vendor activities to ensure project success.
• Analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights for leadership.
• Create reports, dashboards and performance metrics for stakeholders.
• Support procurement and resource planning for engineering initiatives.
• Drive process improvements and support departmental operations.
• Collaborate across teams to gain exposure to utility and digital engineering.
