Job summary

Slalom, a leading data and analytics consultancy, seeks an experienced data reporter to design, build, and optimize analytics datasets in Databricks, using SQL and dbt to power executive and operational Tableau reporting.

You will partner with business and client stakeholders to define reporting requirements, ensure data models are Tableau-ready, and support ingestion of Excel-based sources into Databricks for downstream transformation and reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building data reports for senior leaders/executives.
• Experience building reports in Databricks using SQL and dbt.
• Experience building reports in Tableau.
• Strong communication; ability to partner with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize curated analytics datasets in Databricks using SQL and dbt to support executive and operational Tableau reporting.
• Develop and maintain Tableau-ready fact and dimension models, ensuring data is structured for reporting accuracy, performance, refresh requirements, and business usability in Tableau.
• Partner with business and client stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, validate data definitions, map business logic, and resolve data quality issues.
• Implement and support a limited number of ingestion processes, primarily to bring Excel-based source data into Databricks for downstream transformation and reporting.
