Job summary

The Building People, LLC is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support the U.S. Department of Energy's CMEI, leading data collection, analysis, and reporting across leadership levels.

You will design data solutions with R, Python, C++, and JavaScript, build self-service tools for data consumers, and drive data quality through metadata, lineage, and business definitions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to produce actionable intelligence products.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience; Master’s degree may substitute for two years.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong writing and editing skills; strong communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new data sources and methods for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Gather customer requirements and determine technical issues.
  • Design algorithms and data manipulation using R, Python, C++, and JavaScript.
  • Build data solutions and self-service tools for data consumers.
  • Improve data quality by ensuring metadata, lineage, and business definitions.
  • Collaborate with teams to produce qualitative and quantitative data for intelligence products.
  • Research and assist in developing requirements for CMEI systems including IACC, SCEP, and FEMP.
  • Develop and implement system alternatives to meet program deliverables.

Job description

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Senior Data Analyst in the U.S. Department of Energy.

The Senior Data Analyst will support the Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation (CMEI) leadership tasks across all levels of CMEI leadership by performing the following unclassified duties:

  • Identifying new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • -Collecting customer requirements.
  • -Determining technical issues.
  • -Designing algorithms and data manipulation capabilities using R. Python, C++, JavaScript,
  • Building data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers to monitor and report on data.
  • Improving the quality of data use and usability by driving an understanding and adherence to the principles of data quality management including metadata, lineage, and business definitions.
  • Working collaboratively teams to produce qualitative and quantitative data that support Intelligence products.
  • Research and assist in developing management, professional, technical, and administrative requirements needed to support IACC, SCEP and FEMP and CMEI systems requirements.
  • Develop systems' alternatives and solutions that provide best value to the Program and CMEI in meeting program deliverables and mission.
  • Implement systems' alternatives and solutions that provide the best value to the Program and CMEI in meeting program mission and deliverables.
Required Experience & Skills
  • 8 (Eight) years' experience. Master's Degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong Organization Skills
Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Energy industry, federal government, knowledge a plus
Required Education
