Job summary

Starbucks Corp. in Seattle seeks a senior data & AI engineer to turn trusted data into practical solutions. You will work on Databricks Lakehouse, build reliable pipelines, and enable AI-powered analytics across the enterprise.

You’ll design Genie-enabled experiences, govern data assets, and collaborate with security, product, and analytics teams while mentoring peers and advancing CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in data/analytics engineering or enterprise data-platform delivery.
• 4+ years building Databricks Lakehouse solutions in production.
• 1+ year designing or configuring Databricks Genie or similar NL analytics.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate reliable data pipelines using Databricks, Delta Lake, PySpark, and SQL.
• Develop batch, streaming, and real-time analytics powering AI-enabled workflows.
• Collaborate with upstream/downstream teams to improve data contracts and lineage.
• Design, deploy, and maintain Genie spaces, semantic models, and datasets.
• Ensure security, governance, testing, monitoring, and cost attribution.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices in CI/CD, DevOps, and data engineering.
