Job summary

Torq is seeking a Principal Consultant – Data & AI Engineering to lead the design and delivery of data, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions. You’ll build scalable pipelines, data products, APIs, and intelligent workflows across modern platforms.

You’ll guide clients through ingestion, transformation, modeling, and governance while collaborating with stakeholders. A hybrid schedule (2–3 days on-site) is expected in a fast-growing consulting environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience building data, analytics, or AI-enabled solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Willingness to work a hybrid schedule (2-3 days per-week onsite).
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with production-ready solutions.
• Experience acquiring/integrating data from APIs, flat files, databases, and event streams.
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data quality, and performance optimization.
• Familiar with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and modern data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to translate business needs into scalable data, analytics, and AI solutions.
• Design and build modern data pipelines, integrations, and models across batch, real-time, and cloud environments.
• Develop end-to-end data products from ingestion to analytics and AI-enabled apps.
• Build APIs, automation, and AI-enabled workflows that extend data access.
• Design scalable architecture across warehouses, lakehouses, and analytics apps.
• Define KPIs, data quality checks, and observability for trusted solutions.
• Apply software engineering best practices: CI/CD, clean code, testing, code reviews, documentation.
• Establish data definitions, metadata, lineage, and governance for enterprise-scale solutions.
• Support deployment, adoption, and evolution of data/AI solutions in production.
